I'm having (over a month now) axact the same problem with an Acer Aspire 7551 (P322G25MN) laptop. Only, the CD DVD is NOT an Optiarc AD-7585H by Sony but a HL-DT-STDVDRAM GT30N by Hitachi-LG. Win 10 doesn't recognize the CD DVD drive; it is listed in 'Other Devices' (Device Manager) (as HL-DT-STDVDRAM GT30 and not as HL-DT-STDVDRAM GT30N ATA DEVICE in Win 7); I can not manually install the driver (nor update it); I tried everything mentioned before and in orther threads (regedit atapi Controller0, UpperFilters - LowerFilters, FIXIT, troubleshooter.). Yeah, it works!
-->The HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N in my AMD based laptop (= CD DVD; in Win 7: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N ATA DEVICE) is now after updating the chipset drivers a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N SATA CdRom Device. Win 10 recognizes this device and is able to control it. Astonishing that Acer Europe, Belgium neither Microsoft Europe Belgium Technical Support came up with this so simple solution! (back-up)installatieschijfjes omdat het o.s.

Instabiel was geworden. Heb jij enig idee hoe? Is dit betrouwbaar:?
